WJ Hagerty founded Hagerty in 1895 in the US. At the beginning, Hagerty developed and marketed his Silver Polish. This product was the first one of its kind providing a permanent and perfect shine on silver objects. Due to its success, a complete care line was developed for silver products, especially for fine silver and silver cutlery.

Later, the range was expanded with the Hagerty Jewellery Care Line to include the care of valuable personal items (gold, silver, precious stones and pearls).
