Product information "Zinnplatte 145x74x10mm"
Black polishing is a traditional fine-polishing process used to produce highly flat, mirror-like surfaces on steel components. The extremely low surface roughness creates the characteristic visual effect: Depending on the angle of light and the viewing angle, the surface appears either deep black or highly glossy and reflective.
The process is primarily used in high-end watchmaking for the surface finishing of flat steel components such as screw heads, levers, and other precision parts. It enables the highest surface quality and meets the stringent requirements for appearance and precision.
Application
The surface to be processed is first pre-ground to a flat and fine finish. Next, a small amount of a suitable polishing compound, such as Diamantine, is applied evenly to the polishing plate.
The workpiece is then placed flat on the plate and guided across the polishing surface with even movements. Care must be taken to ensure that the surface being processed remains flat at all times and does not tilt. The polishing process is continued until a uniform, highly flat surface with the typical black polish effect is achieved.
Recommendation
The surface grinder (Ref. 4546311, 364722, 364723), often referred to as a “swing polisher” on social media, is ideally suited for use in combination with this process. It supports reproducible and precise machining, particularly during preparation and the flat, parallel pre-grinding of the surfaces to be polished.
